After literally decades of frustration over the lack of a decent solution for managing timecodes in film manuscripts, I've finally built one myself.
Write your documenatry script while watching the film in the same window and never ever care for timecodes.
The Filmtext-o-Mat lets you:
- watch the film in the same window while you write
- use shortcuts in order to keep the hands on the keyboard
- export the text as a Word file, Excel spreadsheet, and even subtitles
- Your work is safe with the auto-save feature
- stop worrying about those damn timecodes
The whole thing is packaged as a tiny .html file and should run in any browser (though I've only tested it with Chrome, Firefox, and Edge — reports from other browsers are welcome).
